Kabukicho Storm Loop

Everything today sits inside a 600 m radius of the villa, so you are never more than about eleven minutes from a dry room. Total walking across the whole day is roughly 1.6 km.

Ninja Trick House is closed today. Its own site is carrying a typhoon notice, and Google lists it shut for Monday too. Tuesday and Wednesday are its normal closed days, so there is no slot left this trip. The Samurai Museum replaces it, 112 m further down the same street.

Samurai Museum

Armour try-ons, shuriken throwing and a guided tour, which is what the ninja place was for. Ring before you set off — one travel site claims it closed in 2022, though its recent reviews say otherwise and I could not read the museum's own site to settle it.

Friday morning is tighter than it looks. Shinjuku Station is a 19-minute walk from the villa, and that is unencumbered. With four people, luggage and possible rain, leaving at 07:20 for the 08:05 N’EX gives you very little slack, and the station itself is big enough to swallow ten minutes finding the N’EX platform. Worth booking a taxi the night before, or leaving at 07:00.

But not today. Shin-Okubo sits 349 m north-west of the villa, the opposite way from everything on the storm loop. You would walk further to the platform than to the museum. Head south on foot and ignore the stations entirely.
